Our second Community Meeting occurred in multiple sessions (July 12-13, 2022), and focused on shaping a collective visioning for the future of the International Southmost Choice Neighborhoods planning area. We met with three different groups to talk about their past and present experiences as well as their future hopes for the International Southmost community.
During the workshops residents shared preferences on types of housing, community amenities, open spaces and other priority issues. The first group met at the Victoria Garden’s Opportunity Center to work with residents from Victoria Gardens and Citrus Gardens Annex.
The second group met at Tony Gonzalez Park. An incredibly energetic group of kids and teens helped us to better understand how they see their community and how they envision a better future in it.
Finally, during the third event of our Community Meeting #2 residents from the International Southmost Planning area met at Faulk Middle School. We learned more about their stories and experiences living in the community, and listened their ideas, vision and aspirations for the future.
We are very grateful for all the enthusiasm and interest in getting involved in this Plan! Thank you to everyone who participated in our Community Event #2! We hope to see you in our upcoming events so you can keep helping us design the future of the International Southmost Community together!
